Hayek doesn't envy her pre-baby body

The 'Everly' star insists she isn't envious of her pre-baby body as she has welcomed such a great person into her life, eight-year-old daughter Valentina, who she has with husband François-Henri Pinault.
Sharing a throwback photo of herself in a bikini before she gave birth to her little girl, she wrote: “This was my waist before pregnancy. Now it's not the same but my life is so much better.”
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old actress previously revealed she never exercises.
She said: “I have the bad habit of not exercising and not eating healthy food. I have the bad habit of liking wine and cocktails. I'm sometimes lazy with the maintenance. Altogether it's a lot of work.”
And whilst she can slack on her healthy lifestyle, it is her skincare routine that Salma ensures she completes religiously.
She added: “No matter how bad my habits are I always take my make up off before bed. Even if I'm exhausted or sick I take it off. I don't pluck my eyebrows for 90 per cent of the year. But one thing I always do is take my makeup off.”

UN WOMAN OR CHILD RAPED EVERY 26 SECONDS

It is estimated that a woman or girl is raped every 26 seconds in South Africa - and violence against women is an "almost accepted social phenomenon", according to the United Nations.
Dubravka Simonovic, the UN's Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women, will publish recommendations in June following her investigation - but in the meantime children such as 'Ruth' continue to suffer.
She is a 10-year-old girl raped in her family's shack who has told her distressing story to Sky News.
She describes to Sky's Special Correspondent Alex Crawford how she was raped in the toilet of her parents' shack in the settlement of Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg.
Her mother then broke down in tears as she told how her daughter had suffered since.
"Even now it's painful," said mum Grace. "I brought her here to learn because there are no parents at home. She was good in school but now she's not right. She's confused.
"She said, 'At school they are laughing at me, they said to me I'm raped.'"
Crawford also spoke to a man who raped his own niece.
The man was not reported and still lives a few shacks from the six-year-old's mother - a story that seems to confirm the veracity of the UN findings.

The Diepsloot Civil Society Group told Sky News that rape is often considered "a family matter" in the settlement. They are campaigning for greater awareness.

Biafra: CD gives Buhari 7-day ultimatum to release Kanu, Metuh

ONITSHA—Campaign for Democracy, CD, South East Zone, yesterday, joined other human rights bodies in the call for the immediate release of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, the Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olisah Metuh and the former National Security Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd).

In a statement in Onitsha, Anambra State, CD also expressed concern that Buhari had formed the habit of cracking down on Igbo leaders at any slight provocation.
In the statement by its chairman in the zone, Dede A. Uzor, CD recalled that Kanu was arrested on October 17, 2015 and a court of competent jurisdiction granted him bail, yet Buhari refused to release him, just as he also refused to obey the court order which granted Dasuki bail to travel abroad for his medical check-up.
CD regretted that up till date, the duo are still languishing in the dungeons of the Department of Security Services, DSS, adding that Tuesday’s arrest of Metuh was viewed as a clandestine move to silence opposition.
The statement, therefore, gave Buhari a seven-day ultimatum within which to release the above named individuals from detention or else CD would mobilize more than 70 million Ndigbo, both home and in the Diaspora, to carry out a mass protest against their continued detention.
The statement noted that CD was not against arresting any corrupt public officers, but reminded Buhari of the need to obey the sanctity of court orders or rulings, which he swore to uphold, adding that it was very dangerous when such leaders like Buhari disobey court orders.
“Buhari should tell us how many All Progressives Congress, APC, members he has arrested for corrupt practices or does it mean that APC members are all clean, including the former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who allegedly spent over $16 billion on power sector reform without anything to show for it?”

I see myself as lucky to have managed the country’s electricity sector when all these reforms were happening. This is a mission accomplished, because I set out to create a credible leadership in NERC and the electricity market; to make NERC an effective regulator capable of accomplishing its regulatory mandate.

One of God’s Finest”: Austin SoChukwuma Odinkalu, KSM (1936–2015), By Chidi Odinkalu

Sometimes, a little over 20 years ago, a little drama occurred in a land dispute in a customary court somewhere in the old Orlu Zone of Imo State. As the dispute escalated, one of the parties struck upon a not altogether un-Nigerian way of getting an upper hand in the proceedings. He was a senior traditional ruler and business man who had lots of money to spare. He approached the presiding officer with an offer of One million Naira. That was a considerable amount in those days. Several years later, this traditional ruler narrated how he was both baffled and awed that a man who, in his estimation, barely earned enough to put a roof over his head, could turn down with more than a whiff of anger a sum of money that was worth more than anything he may have earned in his working life.
That presiding officer who was committed enough to doing things right that he turned down more money than he he’d ever earned was Augustine SoChukwuma Odinkalu, who died on Christmas Eve, 2015, at the age of 79. A life-long teacher and community leader, Austin, as he was known by many, was one of a generation old enough to have memories of the Second World War but young enough not to have fought in it.
Born in August 1936, Austin was the fourth surviving child of a young widow, Rosaline (Rosa) Nwaugbala of Umuhu-Okabia in present Orsu (formerly part of Orlu) Local Government Area of Imo State, South-East Nigeria. A beneficiary of missionary education, Austin began primary education at St. Joseph’s Primary School Umuhu-Okabia, around the end of the Second World War. He would later complete this in 1951 at St. Charles’ School, Ihitenansa.

N82m dinner: Rivers Information Commissioner to demand refund from Wole Soyinka

Rivers State Information Commissioner , Dr Austin Tam-George has declared that the state government will demand a refund of the N82million expended by former Governor, Amaechi on Professor Wole Soyinka’s dinner if it confirms that the Nobel Laureate received part of the the funds in cash.
Also, Dr Tam-George declared that the point of departure between Former Governor, Amaechi and Governor Nyesom Wike was the insistence of Governor Wike that Amaechi observed probity and accountability in all governmental actions, an advice, he said was allegedly thrown overboard by the former governor .
Addressing Rivers people via a radio programme on Wednesday in Port Harcourt, Dr Tam-George regretted that the Amaechi’s administration using the Ministry of Information and Communications headed by Ibim Semenitari, amassed N1.1billion debt on frivolous expenditure.
According to Dr Tam-George : “I will seek the permission of the Governor to formally write Professor Wole Soyinka, a known supporter of Amaechi if he received part of the N82million spent on a 3-hour Dinner hosted for him by the Amaechi administration.
“If he agrees that he received such funds, then he will be compelled to refund same to the coffers of Rivers State. At present, we have presented these details to the Police for investigation and prosecution. We shall also take up this matter as a financial crime against the people of Rivers State. ”
He alleged that all the fraudulent actions of the Amaechi administration were being addressed by the Wike administration, pointing out that it will take time for the legal process to be completed because they are financial crimes.
The Information Commissioner said that Former Governor, Amaechi betrayed the trust of Rivers people by embarking on alleged irresponsible expenses, which led to mismanagement and misuse of N3trillion that accrued to the state under his watch.
He said that Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike had to leave the Amaechi administration when the former governor refused to adhere to patriotic advice to use Rivers State resources to develop the state.
“The point of departure between Former Governor Amaechi and Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike was Wike’s commitment to probity and accountability. Governor Wike refused to be part of the financial mismanagement of resources that accrued to the state “, Dr Tam-George told the people of Rivers State.
He explained that already Rivers people were witnessing the proper use of resources as they are witnessing transformations across the landscape, alleging that the former Governor left the seat with several months of unpaid salaries, pensions, abandoned projects and scholarships despite receiving N3trillion as revenue under his watch.

PHOTO OF A BUS THE DRIVER WAS LOOKING HOW THE ENVIRONMENT IS BEAUTIFUL

Earth and space sciences span from the Earth’s core, to the Sun’s atmosphere, to stellar explosions at the infancy of our universe.
Our research and development programs support each of the Lab’s three missions: ensuring the safety, security, and reliability of the U.S. nuclear deterrent; reducing global threats; and solving emerging national security challenges, especially in energy security. This capability has elements spread across the Laboratory.
By conjoining basic research and weapons program needs in the earth and space sciences, our research has expanded rapidly.
Today, we continue to address our original missions but also apply our capabilities to a wide range of national and energy security issues, from assessing the safety of underground carbon dioxide sequestration sites to monitoring and analyzing human and natural activities and processes from space.
