NEMA DONATES RELIEF MATERIAL TO EDO FLOOD VICTIM

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has donated relief materials to victims of flood in Edo state.
Among items donated to the flood victims were 100 bags of cement, mattresses, palm oil, beverages, buckets, mats, amongst others.
The lawmaker representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Barr. Omosede Igbinedion, who took delivery of the relief materials, said she was touched when she learnt about the flood and had to move a motion during plenary which led to the intervention by NEMA.
She said she was glad that she has been able to reach out to flood victims.
Omosede also promised to empower women in skill acquisition such as tailoring, catering, bead making.
She said: “2016 is promising. It is a year of empowering Ovia women in skill acquisition. Ensure those picked are interested so that it would not be a waste of time and money.”
‎‎It would be recalled that some riverine communities in Ovia federal Constituency were submerged by flood when the rivers overflowed their bank during the heavy rains.
